There will be an SAA Web Seminar offered at Michigan State University on Tuesday, March 30, 2010. The webinar is called, Basics of Managing Electronic Records…Getting You Started!
The time of the webinar is 2:00-3:30pm and the location is the South Conference Room on the 4th floor of the MSU Main Library.
Michigan State University Archives is underwriting the registration cost associated with the seminar, so attendees will only need to pay their own transportation cost and parking. Please call the MSU archives (517-355-2330) to let us know you wish to attend.

All archives must address the management of electronic records to some degree, and you may not have the background in electronic records or the confidence to tackle this daunting task! This 90-minute web seminar provides you the basics you need to start solving your electronic records problems.
This seminar addresses:
Common preservation formats of electronic records;
Appraising, accessioning, and preserving electronic records;
Working with records creators; and,
Promoting and continuing your electronic records program.
While we won’t be able to cover this huge topic in its entirety, if you need a refresher about electronic records or a basic foundation of knowledge to work from, this web seminar is what you’re looking for.
