Posted on behalf of our friends at MEDAL. If you are an archivist in the Metro Detroit area, we hope you will consider attending (and presenting!) at this free event:
The Metro Detroit Archivists League (MEDAL) invites you to participate in its MEDAL Preconference Symposium, which will be held on Friday, June 3, at the Walter P. Reuther Library of Labor and Urban Affairs. (This flyer has additional details–feel free to post!)
The MEDAL Preconference Symposium is designed to assist librarians and archivists preparing for the upcoming Annual Meeting of the Michigan Archival Association (MAA), allowing speakers to solicit feedback and brainstorm ideas. MEDAL invites you to present lightning talks, presentations, poster sessions, and panel discussions in preparation for the upcoming MAA Annual Meeting, or for other related archives and library conferences. This is a space for you try new and daring things. We ask that presentations not exceed 15 minutes.
The Preconference Symposium will be held from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Light refreshments will be provided. Attendees are welcome to join us for a post-symposium lunch at the Cass Cafe, 4620 Cass Ave, Detroit, MI, 48201.
If you are interested in presenting or attending the lunch, please respond by May 31, 2016. We look forward to seeing you there.
