The 2019 Michigan Archival Association Annual Meeting will be held June 17-18, 2019, at Mission Point Resort on Mackinac Island, MI!

Call for Poster Proposals
The call is out for poster proposals for the 2019 MAA Annual Meeting! Proposal submissions will be accepted through Friday, April 19, 2019. For more details and to submit a proposal view the Proposal Form.

Keynote Speaker
Joining us this year as our keynote speaker will be Dr. Lynn Evans, the Curator of Archaeology for Mackinac State Historic Parks, who will describe the history of Michilimackinac, an eighteenth-century French and British fortified fur trading settlement. This has been the site of over sixty summers of archaeological excavation.

Pre-Conference Pub/Fudge Crawl and Tours

Before the conference starts, on Sunday, June 16th, join us at our pub or fudge crawl. We will be visiting downtown bars and candy shops, stopping at 7:00 for dinner at a local restaurant.

Tours on Monday, June 17th, include a self-guided walking adventure of Fort Mackinac, a guided tour of Mission Point Resort, and a hidden sights carriage ride trip with a sixth-generation islander!

Reception
The conference reception will be held Monday, June 17th, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Summit Room at Mission Point Resort.

Registration
Registration rates include all sessions, breakfast, lunch & refreshments on Monday and Tuesday, and the Monday reception. Costs for the ferry and tours are not included; please see the Conference Program for more detail.

Early Bird, MAA Members, postmarked by April 27, 2019: $110.00

MAA Members, postmarked by May 13, 2019: $130.00
Non-members, postmarked by May 13, 2019: $150.00
Students, postmarked by May 13, 2019: $65.00
One-day Registration, postmarked by May 13, 2019: $75.00
Registration made after May 13, 2019 (on-site): $160.00

After May 13, you must register on-site. The on-site rate is $160 for two days.

  • Fill out and mail the Registration Form included in the Conference Program. Mail-in registrations must be postmarked by May 13.

Hotel Information
Most of the conference activities will take place at Historic Mission Point Resort on Mackinac Island is our conference hotel. Set on the sunrise side of the island, the resort is just a short horse-drawn carriage ride or a 15-minute walk from downtown and the ferry docks. All lunches and sessions will take place at Mission Point. Continental breakfast will be served in the Atrium on Monday and Tuesday. There are three restaurants and a market on site.

A block of rooms has been reserved for June 16 – 17. Room rates, not including taxes, are $179 per night. In addition, a luggage transport fee of $6.00 per adult that will be charged to your room. The reservation cut off date is May 16, 2019 for the conference rate.
